RESEARCH INTERESTS
My interest lies in behavioral ecology and evolutionary phenomena of birds, mammals and insects. Earlier it started as a hobby to just observe and explore backyard birds at my native place in northern western ghats. The interest grew along the years and led me to pursue zoology for my graduation and post graduation. Since I opted for specialization in entomology, I worked on the rearing of plastic eating insects and developmental biology of drosophila larvae. for a brief period of time. Currently I am involved with the biogeography project in which we are looking at the origin of bird diversity, their speciation and distribution patterns in the Indian peninsula. This project is a good opportunity to observe the similarities and differences in bird diversity across the varied landscapes of Indian peninsula. Projects Involved: Peninsula Birds PERSONAL AND OTHER INTERESTS
I have an interest in documenting the wildlife via photography or videography. When off field I like to watch movies, anime and read manga comics. I am also interested in Indian classical music and enjoy playing flute. I play mallakhamba - an ancient Indian sport and like doing yoga as well
