IISER MASTER'S STUDENT
RESEARCH INTERESTS My interests in research are aligned with bird ecology. I always wonder how different bird species adapt to the landscape changes across the world. In particular, I want to study the ecology of birds in different land uses like deforested and fragmented landscapes, agriculture, plantations and settlements. Questions like how do they survive and flourish in these habitats excites me. For my master's thesis at IISER Tirupati, I studied the impacts of exotic timber tree invasion on the Sky Island bird community in the Western Ghats. I am currently working as a project fellow at SACON, India on a project monitoring the bird diversity and populations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Projects Involved: Sky Island Birds, Passive Acoustics of Shola Birds PERSONAL AND OTHER INTERESTS
Birding has become a part of my lifestyle, I do it all the time. Apart from that, I love cooking and travelling. Whenever I visit somewhere I always try to bring back with me a recipe which is unique to that place. My other hobbies include singing, organising events and athletics.
