RESEARCH INTERESTS I am passionate about pursuing research as a career in the intersecting fields of Animal Behaviour, Ecology and Evolution. I am particularly fascinated by birds as model organisms to study behaviour and its evolution, due to their diversity and ubiquity. I have recently developed an interest specifically in social behaviour and its functions in the animal kingdom as well as the various mechanisms that might drive it. My Master’s thesis project was on exploring the various possible functions of allogrooming behaviour and its patterns in Jungle Babblers. I have also briefly worked with bioacoustics during an internship with Dr. V.V. Robin as well as during my Master’s thesis under Dr. Manjari Jain. However, I am always looking to explore other fields in ecology as well, especially with projects that might aid wildlife conservation efforts by contributing to a better understanding of the effects of changing environments under the influence of human activity on the ecology and behaviour of animals. Projects Involved: Bioacoustics PERSONAL AND OTHER INTERESTS
I love listening to music and my song collection grows larger every day. I also occasionally play the ukulele. I love watching all kinds of movies in my spare time and keep myself active by cycling or inline-skating whenever I can. I have also been birding with my brother since I was about 9 and love watching birds.
