RESEARCH INTERESTS My interest in this field is primarily because of my fascination with evolution as a concept and the realities of a changing climate, anthropogenic or otherwise. Climate is a key aspect in the study of ecology and evolution and we have just begun to scratch the surface in understanding the same. The many variable inputs and outputs in climate science make for an interesting problem to understand and hopefully, find some answers and a lot more questions!!! My background is a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering where I worked on projects in Biomedical engineering; from synthesizing silica nano-particles to act as a carrier for dye, to simulating drug delivery across multiple layers of the human cornea. I’ve also volunteered on bird and reptile surveys and was part of a mammal and vegetation census in Ramanagara district, Karnataka. In the Bird Lab, I gained field experience in Mist-netting and bird processing, trapping and identifying mosquitoes and vegetation sampling for the TNFD. I am currently working on a project analyzing climate data in the Shola Sky Islands. I am also interested in Biogeography and Landscape Ecology and am looking forward to gain experience in the wet lab. Projects Involved: GIS and Remote Sensing, Biogeography PERSONAL AND OTHER INTERESTS
I really love football (Go Gunners!!!) and sports in general. I am very interested in the philosophical and cultural implications of advancements in science and technology. I enjoy debating, random trivia, reading and absolutely love the great outdoors. |
