RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My interest in wildlife began at a very young age, inspired by my father, who has been conducting nature education camps in schools for many years. As a child, I actively participated in these camps, observing animals and learning about the natural world. Those early experiences shaped my curiosity and motivated me to explore opportunities in conservation. During my master’s thesis, I was introduced to the field of bioacoustics while studying the vocalisations of Asiatic lions. This experience sparked my interest in understanding animal communication through sound and how vocal behaviour can provide insights into ecology and conservation. Since then, I have been interested in exploring bioacoustics across different taxa. During my master’s, I joined a bird lab as an intern to work on avian acoustics, and after completing my degree, I continued here as a project student. At present, I am involved in a bioacoustic monitoring project focusing on the Jerdon's Courser, one of India’s most elusive and rarely seen birds. PERSONAL AND OTHER INTERESTS:
Outside academics, I love exploring new places, travelling, cycling, and I also enjoy documenting the wildlife around me and capturing moments through photography. In my free time, I like painting and creating artwork.
